Happy New year!

Hope everyone's been keeping busy. I've been occupied moving stuff into my new studio space, with the hope that more space will translate into a greater capacity to put in work. In the meantime, here's a few design pieces I've been working on lately to pay those bills.

Typographica 1

As promised, here's another glimpse of the project I'll be debuting at #Hashtag Gallery's The Biggest Little Art Show in the City. 

Inspired by my love of typography, and seeing so many great 'drawing a day' type projects similarly initiated by friends, Typographica 1 is a 26 4" x 4" hand-painted wood block panel series of the alphabet, rendered in a number of different fonts. 

Come out to the show, have a look, enjoy a drink or two, maybe pick up a one-of-a-kind christams gift for someone's desk!

4x4 Show!

Neighbourhood Olympics

My most recent infographic for the homebuyers blog went up this week, based on information provided by one of the world's leading quartz surface producers (Caesarstone) about the mineral. It was accompanied by an interview detailing more of the process involved in producing quartz surfaces. See the graphic larger and the article here.

I've been attending a great bi-weekly life drawing session with Kagan McLeod recently. Feels great to work the rust off. Drawings are still coming out a bit muddy, not enough structure....but here's a few that aren't too terrible.

Thank you!

The opening reception for my first solo exhibition (Fracture) went off last night, and it was a great success! Huuuuuge, sincere thank you to everyone who came out last night for the reception, and everyone who helped make it happen! It was great seeing everybody, and it means a lot to me that you all stopped by (and from so far and wide!). Big thanks to #Hashtag Gallery for putting me up! You guys are all the best.

Fracture: The Art of Andrew Patterson

I've been working on a series of fake band gig posters recently for fun, just to try out new things and play around with various layouts and ideas.
